What can I expect at my first session?
Mara will arrive at your house and set up the massage table and other necessary equipment. A quiet room with 10'x10' of space is ideal. You will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire and will discuss your goals for your treatment. Mara will leave the room and allow you to undress to your level of comfort before getting on the massage table, under the sheet. During treatment, only the part of the body that is being worked on will be exposed. An unscented, hypoallergenic lotion may be used to reduce friction and irritation of the skin. At the end of the session, Mara will again leave the room to allow you to dress, and then will break down the equipment.
What areas do you serve?
Currently, we serve western Union County and northwestern Middlesex County, including the towns of Edison, Metuchen, Piscataway, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Summit, Westfield, Clark, Cranford, Garwood, Mountainside, and Springfield.
Due to physical restrictions, I am unable to/uncomfortable with receiving a massage on a table. What are my other options?
You may receive a massage seated in a comforable chair, or lying in your bed. Mara has been trained to deal with various positioning requirements; please feel free to discuss your needs with her.
I would rather receive a massage somewhere more relaxing than my house! Can I meet Mara somewhere else?
We offer appointment at Choice Hair Design in Clark. Directions can be found here. Limited appointments are also available at Pure Pilates in New Providence. They have a lovely space that can be seen at their website.
